DZKit offers support before and after your purchase in these ways:
Phone:
Call 970-667-7382 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Mountain Time Monday through
Friday. For technical issues, ask for support. For questions about our
products, ask for the sales department. There is no charge other than your long
distance phone call.
Email:
If you haven't bought a DZKit yet and have questions about our products, please e-mail us at
sales@dzkit.com. We'll get back to you
promptly.
If you are having technical problems, please e-mail us at support@dzkit.com.
A technician will discuss your problem with you promptly via email.
Forums:
While we would support the creation of a user's group to discuss DZKit
products, we do not intend to create or manage one. Why? We have watched the
other radio manufacturers' open forums degenerate into name-calling,
competitor-bashing, and floods of irrelevant emails. We do not want our
customers to have to put up with that nonsense. We also do not want to discuss
software bugs or hardware issues in an open forum that can be monitored by our
competitors. Instead, we provide timely one-on-one customer support, and if any
issues arise that require product alerts, we send them only to our customer
base. If there is enough demand, we may create a moderated forum.
Repair:
If the unit initially worked but stopped working within the shorter of six
months from the shipment date or 90 days from successful completion (we'll trust
you to let us know when that is), send it to us at the above address and we'll
repair it at no charge and send it back to you at our expense. The
warranty does
not cover damage caused by use of acid core solder or obvious abuse. If, after
assembling the unit, you can't get it to work and our tech support has been
unable to help you via phone or email, send it in and we'll investigate it. If
it turns out to be a wiring or assembly error (or software installed by someone
other than DZKit), we'll provide you with an estimate of the
repair cost. If it's a component problem, we'll fix it at no charge.
If the unit is out of warranty, you have several choices:
1. Send the unit to the address above. We'll investigate the problem and give
you a repair estimate. If you want us to repair it, we'll do so and bill you for
the repairs.
2. If the problem is in a removable component, the least expensive way to solve
it is to simply replace the part yourself by buying one from Mouser, DigiKey,
Newark or Allied.
3. Replacement parts are available from our order desk if you should want to
fix the unit yourself.
4. Contact an authorized repair service. See below. Many of the "builders for
hire" also provide service.
Builders for hire:
Here's a list of people who have volunteered to build your kit for you.
Some provide service as well. If you plan to have one of these people build your
kit, please let us know when you order and we will drop ship directly to them.
If you use our online ordering system, you can simply enter a different ship-to
address.
